Privacy notice
Last updated 29 October 2026.
This notice explains what Ropeline does with personal data on ropeline.io, and what your rights are. It covers people who contact us or sign up for early access. Where we handle contact details collected through a customer's own Ropeline doors, we do that on the customer's instructions and they decide how that data is used.
Who is responsible
Ropeline Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17544760. Registered office: 143 Eastfield Road, Peterborough, United Kingdom, PE1 4AU. We are the data controller for the data described here. Questions, and any request about your data, go to admin@ropeline.io.
What we collect
- Your name and email address, when you request early access or unlock a tier on our own demonstration page.
- The kind of room you work, if you choose it from the list on the early access form.
- Technical details of the visit: which door you came through, which tier you reached, the time, and your browser's user-agent string.
- Anything else you write to us in an email.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
Why we use it, and on what basis
We use your name and email to reply to you, to set up your first page, and to tell you when early access opens. The basis for that is our legitimate interest in answering people who approach us, or the steps leading to a contract where you have asked to sign up. We use the visit details to understand how the doors perform and to keep the service working, which is also our legitimate interest. If we ever want to send you marketing beyond what you asked for, we will ask you first, and every message carries a way to stop.
Who sees it
Our hosting and infrastructure providers process this data for us under contract, and our own records system stores it. We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers. We disclose data to a public authority only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Early access enquiries are kept for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, unless you ask us to erase them sooner. Records tied to a paid account are kept for the life of the account and then for six years, which is the period UK tax law requires for business records.
Where it is held
Data is held on servers in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where a provider handles data outside that area, it is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or erase it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it on the basis of legitimate interest, and ask for it in a portable form. Email us and we will answer within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
